Terms of Service
Last updated 7 October 2026
The short version: Stori runs on your machine, you pay only for the hosted runs you choose, unspent balance comes back on request, and what you make is yours, and we never train on it. The long version follows.
01Who we are
Stori is made by STORI ART sp. z o.o., a company registered in Poland under KRS 0001246643, VAT ID PL5842886018, with its seat at ul. Tadeusza Kościuszki 37 m. 1, 80-445 Gdańsk ("we", "Stori"). You can reach us at support@stori.art.
These terms govern the Stori desktop application, the stori.art website, and the hosted services behind them: sign-in, billing, model routing, and the agent chat relay.
02Your account
You need an account to use Stori, including the desktop application. You can create one with Google or with an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself and for everything done through your account, including what Stori's agents do at your request: they act for you, with the access you give them.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to open an account. One person, one account, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
03What runs where
Stori is local-first. Your sessions, nodes, edges, generated assets, chat history, and run history live on your own machine and are not uploaded to us.
Hosted runs: when you run a hosted model, the inputs for that run (for example a prompt, an image, or settings) are sent through our proxy to the model provider you selected, and the output is returned to your machine. We keep only what we need to bill the run.
Agent chat: each message you send to Stori's agents is relayed to the model provider that answers that turn and is paid like any hosted run. The conversation itself is stored on your machine.
Local models run entirely on your computer and cost nothing. Nothing about those runs reaches us, though signing in and billing still need an internet connection.
Problem reports: if automatic error reports are on, Stori sends us technical details about errors, such as the app version, your system, and what failed, never your prompts or files. You can turn them off in Settings. A report you write yourself contains what you type and any files you choose to attach.
04Paying for what you make
Installing Stori is free and local work is free. Hosted model runs are paid per generation from a prepaid balance. Every price is shown on the node before you run it, and you are charged only for runs that complete.
You top up the balance in US dollars. VAT is added at checkout according to your billing country, and business customers with a validated EU VAT number are invoiced under the reverse-charge rule. Every top-up produces an invoice you can download from Billing.
Top-ups are processed by Revolut Business. Your card details are entered in Revolut's secure field and never reach us. Balances are not transferable, are not interest-bearing, and cannot be exchanged for cash except as described under Refunds.
You can keep a card on file when you top up. We store only its brand, last four digits, expiry, and issuing country; Revolut holds the card itself. You can remove it in Billing at any time.
05Auto top-up
Auto top-up is off until you turn it on. When it is on and your balance falls below the threshold you set, we charge the card on file for the amount you set. You choose a threshold between $1 and $1,000, an amount between $10 and $500, and, if you want one, a monthly limit of up to $5,000; without a limit, only our daily safety limits apply. An automatic top-up is charged at most once an hour, adds VAT, and gets an invoice like any other top-up.
It needs a card on file whose issuing country matches your billing country. It turns itself off when you remove or replace that card, when the card expires, or after three charges in a row fail, and the app tells you when it does. You can turn it off or change it in Billing at any time.
06Refunds
Balance you have not spent is refundable on request, at any time, to the card you paid with. Write to support@stori.art with the top-up you want reversed. Credits already spent on completed runs are not refundable, because the model provider has already been paid for that work.
Refunds are made per top-up and in full: we reverse a top-up when your balance still holds its whole amount, and issue a credit note against its invoice. A top-up you have partly spent stays as credit for future runs. For example, if you top up $25 twice and spend $10, your balance is $40: we can refund one $25 top-up in full, and the other $15 stays as credit.
We send an approved refund within 14 days of your request, to the card you paid with. Your bank usually shows it within 5 to 10 business days after that.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a fourteen-day right to withdraw from a top-up. Because you ask us to make the balance available immediately, withdrawal covers the top-ups you have not started spending, not the credits already used.
If a run fails, you are not charged for it. If you believe you were charged for a run that did not deliver, tell us within thirty days and we will check the provider's record and correct the charge.
07Your content and outputs
You own what you bring to Stori and what you make with it, to the extent the law allows. You grant us only the licence needed to pass your inputs to the provider for the run you asked for and to return the output to you. That licence ends when the run does.
We never use your prompts, uploads, or outputs to train or improve any model, ours or anyone else's. We do not keep them, so there is nothing to train on.
Generative models can produce outputs that resemble other people's outputs or existing works, and can be wrong. We do not promise that an output is unique, accurate, or free of third-party rights; check it before you rely on it or publish it. Outputs are not professional advice.
Some providers mark their outputs with provenance information, such as C2PA content credentials. Stori passes those marks through as the provider made them.
08Model providers
Hosted runs are performed by the model provider named on the node. Each provider's usage policy applies to its runs alongside these terms, and where the two differ, the stricter rule applies to that run. Providers may refuse a request under their own safety rules; a refused run is not charged.
09Content rules
Do not use Stori to make, or to try to make: sexual content involving anyone under 18, real or synthetic; intimate or sexual images of a real person without their consent; content that impersonates a real person or passes synthetic media off as a real recording in order to deceive; content that harasses, threatens, or promotes violence or hatred against people for who they are; material for fraud, scams, or malware; or anything else that is illegal where you or the people affected are.
If your inputs show or sound like a real, identifiable person, you must have their permission to use their likeness or voice that way. Do not try to get around a provider's safety filters.
We do not read or scan your work: it stays on your machine. We act on reports, on what we can see in billing metadata, and on what providers tell us.
10Acceptable use
Do not attempt to bypass billing, rate limits, or access controls; do not resell hosted runs; do not use the service to attack, probe, or overload it or any provider behind it; do not use Stori where sanctions or export rules forbid it.
We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. For serious breaches, such as the content rules on minors and non-consensual imagery, we may close the account at once. Either way, unspent balance is refunded under the Refunds section.
11Reporting content and contact point
If you believe someone used Stori to infringe your rights or to make illegal content, write to support@stori.art with what you saw, where, and why it is unlawful. We answer reports and requests from authorities in English or Polish. This address is our single point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act.
We disclose account or billing data to authorities only when the law requires it. We cannot hand over your work, because we do not have it.
12Availability and changes
Hosted services are provided as they are. They depend on providers, networks, and infrastructure we do not control, so we do not promise they are always available or fast. Model providers change models, prices, and availability; we pass those changes on and show a changed price before a run proceeds. We may change or retire hosted features with reasonable notice.
Features marked as preview or beta are early and may change or stop working. The desktop application updates itself; release notes describe each change.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Stori without owing you anything for them. This covers the feedback itself, never your content.
13Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to Stori is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for the content of model outputs, for loss of data stored on your own machine, or for indirect losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Polish or EU law, including for consumers.
14Ending things
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion takes effect at once: your sign-in, balance, saved card, and auto top-up end, and the desktop app can no longer sign in to it. Your local files stay on your machine as ordinary files you can open, copy, or move.
Ask for a refund of any unspent balance before you delete: balance still on the account at the moment of deletion is forfeited. While a payment, refund, or invoice is still being processed, deletion waits until it settles. Invoices and the billing records behind them are kept as tax records, as the Privacy Policy describes.
We may close accounts that have been inactive for twenty-four months after notice to the account email. Any unspent balance on such an account is refunded first, under the Refunds section.
15Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Poland. Consumers in the EU keep the protections of the law of their country of residence, and may use the EU online dispute resolution platform. Courts of Gdańsk, Poland have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
16The rest
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Stori. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Stori, and we will tell you if that happens; you may not transfer your account without our agreement. We send notices to your account email and in the app.
